Rong Doi Platform assists wounded fisherman
The Rong Doi Platform, an exploration, production joint venture project in Block 11-2 off Viet Nam's coast, operated by Korea National Oil Corporation (KNOC), received and provided medical assistance to a wounded Vietnamese fisherman.
On August 20th, Rong Doi Platform received information from HD-01 vessel of a request for medical assistance from a Vietnamese fishing boat. A crewman had had his finger cut off while working near the boat's motorblades.

Doctors on the platform consulted with HD-01 to better assess the situation and decided that the crewman should be brought on board the platform for emergency assistance. The wounded fisherman, Mr. Tran Van Phong, came aboard the platform at 6 PM, August 20th, and was tended to by the platform doctor. His wound was cleaned and bandaged.
Mr. Phong is alert and able to communicate clearly. Mr. Phong continued to receive medical attention after his wound was bandaged and was transported ashore on a shift-change helicopter on August 21st.
