On June 11 - 12, 2017 the Rong Doi Platform, Block 11-2, a joint venture project of PetroVietnam Exploration Production Corporation (PVEP), operated by Korea National Oil Corporation (KNOC), provided medical assistance to a fisherman on fishing vessel BRVT 96567TS for a finger injury on the lef hand.

Around 10 PM June 10, 2017, while working at night, fisherman Dang Thanh Lap (age 48, fisherman on fishing vessel BRVT 96567TS) lost his balance, hitting a squid-dryer nearby. The blades bit into his left hand, smashing 2 fingers, skinning parts of his hand, causing severe bleeding. His hand was bandaged by other crewmen. The vessel then came towards the Rong Doi platform to receive further assistance. The fisherman was transferred to Rong Doi Platform from the Hải Dương 01 service cutter on the monrning of June 11, 2017.

Upon cleaning and bandaging the wound, doctors on Rong Doi platform gave the fisherman antibiotics, anti-inflammatory and pain reliever pills. Seeing multiple lacerations on the patient's middle and pinky fingers, the proximal phalanx on the pinky disfigured, with possibility of additional bone damage but without any further injuries in other parts of the body, doctors on Rong Doi platform recommended the patient be heli-lifted on-shore using the helicopter that was coming for a shift-relief on June 12th for further treatment. 
On the morning of June 12, the patient was airlifted on-shore and was reunited with family at Vung Tau airport.

Over the past few months, PetroVietnam Exploration Production Corporation (PVEP) and subsidiaries, JOCs have helped many fisherman in-trouble at sea. Most recently, on June 3-4, 2017 PVEP POC (PVEP - POC) - a subsidiary of PetroVietnam Exploration Production Corporation, helped provide medical attention to a fisherman on fishing vessel BT97811TS that was heavily wounded in the face as a result of being hit by a broken cable near Song Doc Well. Before that was the successful rescue of 8 fishermen on a capsized fishing vessel, medical treatment provided to a fisherman in an occupational accident and an emergency case of appendicitis for 1 other fisherman
