The 2023 Annual Meeting of PetroVietnam Exploration Production Corporation (PVEP) and SK Earthon Company (SK EO) took place on April 13th and 14th in Ha Long, Quang Ninh.

The conference was attended by PVEP’s President and CEO, Dr. Tran Hong Nam, the Executive Board and leaders of functional divisions. CEO Seong Myeong and the Executive Board were on the side of SK Earthon.

Overview of PVEP and SK Earthon Annual Summit

PVEP and SK Earthon shared the results of their production and business in 2022 at the conference. The two parties also shared the outcomes of the MOU signed in August 2022 on cooperation in the fields of oil and gas exploration and production, renewable energy research and development, and technology for carbon capture and storage (CCS).

The conference highlighted a range of partnership opportunities, including PetroVietnam's 2023 open oil and gas block auction and a joint study agreement on CCS technology.

At the conference, many possibilities for cooperation were discussed.

Dr. Tran Hong Nam, President and CEO of PVEP, emphasized that the two organizations are strategic partners with a long history of collaboration and have worked closely to carry out oil and gas projects in Vietnam with numerous achievements. The Joint Study Agreement (JSA) on CCS technology deployed in Vietnam confirms that the cooperation partnership will be strengthened further. This is an essential phase in ensuring the growth of their collaboration while assisting Vietnam's government meet its Net Zero commitment by 2025.
