Mr. Nguyen Huy Hoang was born in 1981 in Hanoi. He holds a Master’s degree in Finance – Monetary Circulation – Credit from the National Economics University in Hanoi.

He commenced his career at the Hanoi Statistics Office and accrued substantial experience in the banking and finance sector through various positions at Techcombank. In 2010, he transitioned to the oil and gas industry, where he served as Secretary to the Vice President of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) and subsequently as Assistant to the Chairman of PetroVietnam. From 2015 to 2021, he undertook management roles in several divisions of PetroVietnam, including Planning, Finance and Accounting, and Investment.

Since May 2021, Mr. Hoang has held the position of Head of the General Department at PetroVietnam and concurrently Chairman of the Board of Directors at the Petroleum Union Finance Joint Stock Company (now known as Vietnam Petroleum Trade and Services Joint Stock Company).

In recognition of his expertise and contributions to the oil and gas sector, on October 14, 2024, the leadership of PetroVietnam appointed Mr. Nguyen Huy Hoang as a Member of the Board of Directors of PetroVietnam Exploration Production Corporation (PVEP). This strategic leadership appointment is a crucial enhancement to the corporation’s management, particularly in the financial domain, thereby bolstering PVEP's operational efficiency in the forthcoming period.
