Mr. Dang Viet Long was born in 1976 in Hanoi. He holds a Bachelor of International Business Economics from the Foreign Trade University (FTU) of Vietnam and a Master of Business Administration from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT).

In the process of working in the Petroleum industry, He started working as a specialist of the Commercial – Contract Division of Project Management Board of Dung Quat Oil Refinery from April 2000 until the first Oil Refinery of Vietnam was basically completed in March 2007, he was transferred to the Commercial Department of Petrovietnam Development and Investment Company that later is the Commercial Division of PetroVietnam Exploration Production Corporation (PVEP).

From April 2008 to March 2010, he was appointed Deputy General Manager of Offshore Facilities Divison of PetroVietnam Exploration Production Corporation, deploying the first 2D seismic shipbuilding project of Vietnamese Petroleum Industry with the birth of Binh Minh 02 vessel.

From November 2011, he was promoted to be Assistant for President & CEO and Deputy General Manager of Administration Office of Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PVN) until October 2014.

From November 2014, he was appointed General Manager of Investment and Development Division of PVN.

As the Decision of the Board of Directors of PVN, he was appointed a Member of PVEP's Board of Directors on 09th October 2017.
