PVEP steps up corporate governance and risks management efforts

As a result of competition and growth, the State's policies regarding management of trading and production of petroleum have continually changed, and the rising pressure in terms of revenue, business costs have caused leaders of PVEP much headache in business operations and consider strengthened corporate governance and risk management. 

On August 2nd, 2017, the Human Resources and Training Division and Internal Supervisory Board together with PWC Viet Nam organized the seminar “Knowledge-sharing on Risks Management and Internal Audit”. The Seminar saw the attendance of nearly 60 PVEP staffs, including key leaders such as Mr. Nguyen Van Que, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Mr. Ngo Huu Hai – President & CEO of PVEP.


Ovewview of the Seminar 

Despite its short duration, the Seminar was lively and had concentrated discussion, many questions by people directly involved in the Corporation's operations were raised. Many solutions for Operators were suggested, including: the importance of risks management in corporations; the role of the Board of Directors in corporate governance, and the relationship between corporate governance, effective risks management with internal audits and supervision. 


Speakers sharing at the Seminar 

Leaders of PVEP also were provided information on the draft “Decree on Internal Audit” and “An Audit Handbook”. These are trusted reference materials for organizations such as PVEP and are useful for the supervision of PVEP's past and future operations.
