PVEP ORGANIZES A CONFERENCE TO SUM-UP THE YEAR 2018

On 04th January 2019 in Hanoi, PVEP holds a Conference to sum-up the year 2018 and kick-off the plan for 2019.

Attending the Conference were H.E Dang Hoang An, Deputy Minister of Industry & Trade (MOIT); Representatives from the Government Office, Ministry of Plan & Investment. For Vietnam Oil & Gas Group were Mr. Nguyen Vu Truong Son, President & CEO and other members from Board of Directors, Executive Board and functional Divisions.

On behalf of PVEP were Dr. Tran Hong Nam – Chairman, Dr. Tran Quoc Viet – President & CEO, and all members from Board of Directors, Executive Board, functional Division, JOCs, Trade Union…

At the event, Dr. Tran Quoc Viet presented a report on business and production of PVEP in 2018, along with the direction and plan for 2019.

In 2018, PVEP has faced lots of huge challenges and difficulties, but with high determination and fully combined all resources; it has overcome and completed ahead of schedule all assigned tasks.

PVEP ensures all business activites with absolute safety; the monthly output always exceeds the plan. It early finished production 32 days for oil/condensate and 15 days for gas ahead of plan. The total production of 2018 is 4,23 million tons (109% of assigned task).

The year 2019 is predicted with many difficulties and PVEP will have to solve the financial condition, investment projects and complete the task assigned by PetroVietnam. Especially, PVEP will have to enhance exploration activities with the main purpose of increasing 1.8 million tons of oil equivalents from domestic projects, along with focusing on the current mines that are being produced.

Speaking at the Conference, Mr. Nguyen Vu Truong Son – President & CEO of PetroVietnam highly appreciated the efforts of PVEP leaders and staffs, and also requested PVEP to proactive measures to deal with the fluctuation of oil price, focusing on solving financial difficulties and existing mechanism. Besides, PVEP continues to speed up the overall restructuring scheme as a basic for orienting long term activities.

H.E Dang Hoang An congratulated PVEP on the great achievement and contribution in 2018, and emphasised its key role in the core business of PetroVietnam. He also encouraged all leaders and staffs of PVEP to deal with the challenges ahead in 2019, and committed that MOIT – as in managing level - will give PVEP/ PVN full supports to complete the forthcoming tasks.

On behalf of PVEP, Chairman of the Board of Directors Tran Hong Nam received instructions from MOIT and PetroVietnam, he committed that PVEP would make efforts to overcome difficulties and handle outstanding issues. , determined to successfully achieve the targets and tasks assigned by the Group, creating a premise to develop in the future, contributing to the overall success of the oil & gas industry and the country's economy

In order to motivate collectives and individuals who have made outstanding achievements in the working aspects of 2018, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Vietnam Oil & Gas Group, PetroVietnam Trade Union, and PVEP have granted Certificate of Merit and Emulation Flag to PVEP staffs.
